food & drink By Zach Everson Lynn Winter closed Lynn's Paradise Cafe in January. But other than denying it was related to fallout from her policy requiring servers bring $100 cash to each shift to tip out support staff, she had refused to provide a reason for the shuttering. Until September, when she told WHAS 11 it was ìbecause she was battling shingles." The iconic restaurant is for sale but has no asking price. There'll likely be a bidding process, with Winter's ìfeelings as to who (the new owner) should be" as one of the criteria. WHAT WE'RE EATING NOW Spicy Saigon noodles and a bánh mì sandwich at NamNam. THETASTING MENU What's new on the Louisville restaurant front Adam Burress and Chase Mucerino, the chef/owners of Hammerheads and Game, announced they're launching a third restaurant: Loop 22 is slated to open in the Douglass Loop in midNovember. On the menu? Rotisserie and modern American cuisine. The location is the former site of the Corner Door and the Pink Door. El Camino and Atlantic No. 5 both opened in mid-October, making it the most important event in Louisville restaurant history since Col. Sanders decided maybe his fried chicken didn't need fenugreek. El Camino serves ìMexican street food" and artisanal tiki drinks at Avalon's old Bardstown Road spot. Downtown, Atlantic No. 5 focuses on sandwiches, salads and breakfast items, as well as beer and wine on tap and in-house bottled cocktails. Chicken curry naan and leek scalloped potatoes at Ghyslain. Five of those spots remain vacant, although the owner of Sully's Saloon and Maker's Mark Lounge plans to open the Tavern on 4th, ìan upscale bar" for professionals in the 30-and-older crowd.
