(Performances through May 18) 5 Monday Nap. 6 Tuesday Donate to more than 175 local non-profts for Give Day, price-matched by the Community Foundation of Louisville and its sponsors. Dandy Warhols at Mercury Ballroom. 7 Wednesday Tegan and Sara at Mercury Ballroom. 8 Thursday Brazilian guitar, mandolin and percussion ensemble Trio Brasileiro at the Clifton Center. 9 Friday Stock up on fowers, herbs and other plants and garden necessities at the annual Gardeners' Fair hosted by and beneftting Locust Grove. (May 9-11) 10 Saturday Learn how to yodel and appreciate chocolate, along with more than 50 other skills, at the annual How-To Festival at the main branch of the Louisville Free Public Library. More practical skills include how to start a business and how to buy art, but we should all really learn to hula hoop. 11 Sunday R. Kelly at the KFC Yum! Center. But if you have kids (especially if you have kids), instead check out StageOne's performance of Diary of a Worm, a Spi- der and a Fly, based on the bestselling children's book, at the Kentucky Center (May 10-17). Oh, and it's Mother's Day. 12 Monday We don't like Mondays either. Grab a cold one at your neighborhood dive. 13 Tuesday The return of Front Porch Tuesdays, as declared by Councilman Tom Owen. Even-numbered houses host their neighbors from across the street. 14 Wednesday The annual Festival of Faiths at Actors Theatre gathers environmental, social justice and faith lead- ers, including writer-farmer-activist Wendell Berry. (May 13-18) 15 Thursday Rock/psychedelic-pop band Portugal. The Man, who teamed up with producer Danger Mouse (the Black Keys, Broken Bells, Norah Jones) to record their seventh studio album, Evil Friends, takes a break between international music festivals to play at the Brown Theater. 16 Friday Old Louisville SpringFest (First Street and Ormsby Avenue) hosts more than 100 vendors and artists, a beer-wine-bourbon tent, as well as local food trucks and performances by local bands. (May 16-17) 17 Saturday The semi-annual Highlands Beer Fest has oodles of beer tastes at ValuMarket at Mid City Mall. St. Mat- thews Street Festival (Frankfort Avenue between Lexington Road and Bauer Avenue) includes local food, a beer tent, live music and retail booths. Later that night, don't miss Australian hard rockers Wolf- mother at Headliners. Or Lyle Lovett at Iroquois Amphitheater. 18 Sunday Businesses, musicians, craftsmen, farmers and art- ists convene at the Louisville Water Tower Park for the Buy Local Fair. 19 Monday Sports fans, check out Gridiron Glory at the Frazier History Museum. More than 200 artifacts from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. (Through Aug. 31) 20 Tuesday Churchill for some afternoon betting? 21 Wednesday You have a few days left to catch Nightscapes paint- ings by Sunny Ra at PUBLIC Gallery. (Ends May 24) 22 Thursday The world's largest Beatles-inspired music festival, Abbey Road on the River, takes place at the Galt House Hotel, the Belvedere Festival Park and the Muhammad Ali Center with more than 60 bands, including The Beach Boys. (May 22-26) 23 Friday The Down Home Blues Festival includes Clarence Carter at the Louisville Palace. 24 Saturday Wish you were going to Jamaica instead of the lake this Memorial Day? No problem, mon! The Kentucky Reggae Festival at the Louisville Water Tower will lift your spirits. (May 24-26) 25 Sunday The Boomtown Ball and Festival features a fea market and live music by bands picked by New Albany's own Houndmouth at Bicentennial Park in New Albany, Ind. Houndmouth plays a sold-out show later in the night at The Grand. 26 Monday Skrillex at Waterfront Park's Great Lawn. 27 Tuesday From the creators of South Park comes the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Book of Mor- mon at the Kentucky Center. (May 27- June 8) 28 Wednesday My Morning Jacket drummer and Louisville na- tive Patrick Hallahan's side project Spanish Gold headlines WFPK's Waterfront Wednesday on the Big Four Lawn. 29 Thursday Stars of the Silver Screen showcases Hollywood photographer George Hurrell's work at the Paul Paletti Gallery.
