Awards 2015
Some places and people have been winning Best of Louisville plaques
since the beginning. For our inaugural awards, in July 1986, W.W.
Cousins won for best hamburger, Terry Meiners for radio personality,
the Bristol for neighborhood bar, Nanz and Kraft for forist, Rodes
for men's store. On the fip side, you can pour one out for year-one
winners Hawley-Cooke Booksellers, Casa Grisanti, Phoenix Hill
Tavern (just closed, if you hadn't heard).... Hell, that frst year we ran
these two categories: travel agency and VCR rental shop.
A lot can happen in three decades. So to celebrate Best of
Louisville's 30th anniversary, we discover what's best about Louisville
right now, mourn some of the best things we've lost since '86, and
determine what's best for our future. Oh, and we're throwing a
