Mesa Readers' Choice RC Hamburger (And don't skip the wedge salad) Mussel & Burger Bar 113 S. Seventh St., 9200 Taylorsville Road While the name implies that you should order mussels and burgers (the Spanish Blue burger, with blue cheese and fig marmalade, is especially good if you add bacon and dip the fries in aioli), it would be a mistake not to get the wedge salad. Sure, those can be…predictable, even passé as food trends go. (Is iceberg lettuce even a vegetable? Kale says no.) But this one — with roasted corn and tomatoes, blue cheese, bacon, cilantro and jalapeño ranch dressing — is a spicy-savory blend that feels more like indulging in tacos. It's a knife-and-fork situation with two sections of iceberg perfect for sharing on a date, though there may be a fight over who gets to keep the original plate, where all that jalapeño ranch drowns bacon at the bottom. OK, maybe get a burger, too. And leave with lots of yummy leftovers. — MCA Wedge salad at Mussel & Buger Bar Photo by Jessica Ebelhar
