Cabrina Bosco shows off Oreo, whose breed is known as a light Brahma. Cabrina Bosco's foray into chicken-raising started out of compost envy. "I was gar- dening and then got a couple of beehives, which lead me to meet a lot of people that had chickens," she says. "Their chickens were supplying them with this great com- post — they really do make the best — so that's how I got started." Bosco has three different breeds. "I picked them based on temperament and the kinds of eggs they lay," she says. "Some lay large brown eggs and others the blue and green eggs."
