kyoms.com LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 11.17 11 Driving. I wanted the freedom to be able to go to my friend's house or wherever I wanted. But the thought of car wrecks has given me anxiety problems since I was a teenager; I used to have panic attacks while riding in cars. I worry about wrecking my car quite a lot. Also: traffic. I can't wait for teleportation. Lindsay Flint Advertising production coordinator When I was really young I wanted to be a police officer or a firefighter. I wanted to be the hero, someone who would do good and help others. I'm not exactly sure why I didn't push to be a firefighter. Maybe because they are way underpaid and I like to sleep. Adam Mescan Photographer Juice. My mom would never let us drink juice because it had too much sugar. She also wouldn't buy white bread, so I bought those two things all the time after I moved out. They're both good but not amazing for very long. And juice really does have too much sugar. Michelle Eigenheer Contributing writer Voting. I was so lighthearted the first time I voted in a presidential election. It was 1992, Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. on the ticket. We lived in Arkansas when I was in elementary school and my father set up chairs at a rally for Clinton when he was governor. Clinton told my dad, "If you ever need anything, Terry…." We spent the next eight years thinking of what would have been a reasonable request, but nothing seemed important enough. Now, I don't feel lighthearted. I feel fear and anxiety and I can think of at least 20 things I would request. Suki Anderson Art director I loved going to the grocery store as a kid and always told my mom that I couldn't wait to grow up so that I could buy whatever I wanted. Although it's not awesome when I get the bill, I actually do still enjoy the grocery store. Mandy Wood Advertising account executive I recently found a worksheet from when I was in second grade: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Answer: farmer. Or a dinosaur. No, not a paleontologist. An actual dinosaur. The closest I got is the Stegosaurus lamp on my nightstand. Josh Moss Editor
