This oil painting, titled "The
Mystifying Face of a Moon,"
is by Julio Cesar Rodriguez,
one of roughly 100 local
artists participating in Open
Studio Weekend (p. 138).
"This painting is one of my
favorites of my career," he
says. "I painted both of my
kids, characters in one of my
surreal scenarios. You can
find me right there behind
the hat, as an owl. The title
of the piece came to me one
night like a whisper."
