Kentucky ElderLaw helps families afford long-term care In recent years, changes have been proposed to Social Security, Medicaid and VA benefits that affect how people get care and how they pay for it. "For seniors and people with disabilities," said Kelly Gannott, "it is a scary time." Gannott and the other experienced and caring attorneys at Kentucky ElderLaw help make it less scary. Kentucky ElderLaw helps people get benefits to pay for care where they need it, whether at home, in assisted living or the nursing home. They assist with asset preservation, ensuring that "everything is not lost when the first spouse needs care," explained Misty Clark Vantrease. "It is important to us that hard- working people be able to fulfill their goals of leaving an inheritance to their families," added John Dotson. Published authors who lecture frequently to professionals and the public, they are members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and accredited VA attorneys. They are involved with the Elder Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, with Dotson ready to begin his term as chair.
