You can't help but notice, while scanning old Caufield & Shook photos o f local businesses, that dressing up the
background was not a priority for either the photographer or the client. Hey, really attractive pipes, and love the
overall decor! Welcome to C.B. Thompson Co. Florists on Fifth Street just north of Broadway, where somebody's
mighty proud (although you wouldn't know it from his face or his posture) of the floral rooster he crafted for
a man named Al, who must have been quite the swell guy to be presented with a giant chicken. Why would we
choose this 1928 photo as food for thought? Because this month kicks off the Chinese Year of the Rooster.
