Charles Cash Patrick Piuma Best Hardware Store Brownsboro Hardware & Paint "Can I help you find something today?" are the words out of every single employee's mouth as someone walks through the front door, which is a lot considering Brownsboro Hardware & Paint employs 35 people from ages 15 to 85. Of course, there are a lot of ways for the store to help, especially with an in-store post office and two golden retrievers, Junie and Lady, to entertain the kids. Jim and Marilyn Lehrer, a husband-and-wife team from Wisconsin, fell in love with Louisville in the early '90s, and in 1998 they bought the business, which dates to 1960. "Our success is a result of our staff," Jim Lehrer says. "We have a huge focus on customer service so people can come in and get what they need, get home, and get it fixed." Turns out, we need some tips about how to hang a Best of Louisville plaque. 1. Brick: Decide exactly where you want to hang it and pound a masonry nail into the mortar joint using a hammer. 2. Plaster: Use a very sharp, hardened OOK Blue Steel Nail so you don't crack the plaster. 3. Drywall with no stud: Slap a 10-pound picture hanger on the wall. If that's too simple, a molly bolt will do the trick. Just screw it into the wall and it will open up behind the drywall, securing it in place so the plaque doesn't fall and make it sound like a burglar is trying to break in. 4. Drywall with stud: Slide your stud finder over the wall. When it beeps, you've found the stud. Hammer a nail into the stud and hang your award for all to see. 5. Where else are you going to hang it?
