Being weird is a fun concept. But it represents
a major impact. And by being weird, we mean
breaking out of national clone shopping and
doing your Louisville thing. LIBA has always
made it a priority to run a positive campaign
— to emphasize the benefits of buying local,
versus the negatives of not. That's why we
like weird. It's not about feeling bad when
you don't shop local, but feeling good when
you do, and making a conscious effort to start
shifting your habits. We know you can't buy
local 100% of the time, but you can start by
thinking of a 10% shift. If everyone did that,
we'd retain an additional $416 million in the
regional economy every year.
So be proud of your weird self and your weird
city. Show your friends and neighbors how you
keep Louisville weird by making a 10% shift in
your buying habits.
