LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 8.16 129 RESIDENCE IN LOOK QUIZ "Radome," photograph by Tim Furnish "He must have gotten inside of it," Denise Furnish says of how her son, Tim, captured this photograph of a mil- dew-colored geodesic dome that once existed on the side of a road on the way to Brandenburg, Kentucky. A guided tour of her home near Seneca Gardens reveals paintings, pottery and even a chainsawed sculpture. But she says she's especially fond of her son's photograph be- cause in some ways it resembles her own artwork. "It's very quilt-like," says Denise, who has been dyeing and painting discarded handmade quilts since the 1980s. More than 20 years ago, Tim gave "Radome" to his moth- er as a gift. "It must have been for Christmas," she says. It now hangs in the kitchen, where she can "see it every day." — Katie Molck We asked rockers Wax Fang to take a disposable camera on the road earlier this year. "That's me hiding behind some balloons at a late-night birthday party in the Highlands after driving back from a show we played in Indianapolis in February," frontman Scott Carney says.
