Hideaway Saloon is having its last show (we know!), with Hot Iron Skillet. Filmmaker Elijah McKenzie, as part of his KY Place documentary series at Tim Faulkner Gallery, screens Episode 4: The Dirt Bowl about west Louisville's historic basketball tournament. 2 After nine months of construction, KMAC is open again with free admission for a year starting with the show "Material Issue" plus recent acquisitions to its permanent collection on display (July 1-Sept. 25). 3 Louisville Orchestra, Houndmouth and Callie Day on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park for a 4th of July celebration. 4 Crescent Hill 4th of July festival at the Peterson-Dumesnil House (July 3 & 4). 5 More than 100 years of photos of Kentucky in "Kentucky Captured" at the Speed Art Museum (July 1-17). 6 Soundgarden and Audioslave rocker Chris Cornell at the Louisville Palace with Oakland blues-punk musician Fantastic Negrito. 7 Louisville Magazine's Best of Louisville at the Kentucky Center. 8 Poorcastle at Apocalypse Brew Works is the all-local response to Forecastle, with three days of bands, beer and grub. Lebowski Fest at Executive Strike and Spare (July 8 & 9). Dr. Dundiff album release show at Mercury Ballroom. Blues Roadshow at Bicentennial Park in New Albany. If anything, see Pee Wee's Big Adventure (for free!) during Family Film Night on the Belvedere.
