Highlands BANG FOR YOUR BUCK Our budget was $300,000, and the goal, going back to January 2011, was to compare houses that sold for that price in 15 different neighborhoods. With the help of realtor Joe Hayden, we learned that $300k can go a long way or get you less than 1,500 square feet. In some areas, the most expensive home went for far less than our budget. We had to spend a little extra to get into the heart of the Highlands. "For $300,000 in Louisville," Hayden says, "you generally should get a good- quality home."
