LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 12.15 81 menu makes me feel like I'm in Italy. Saltim- bocca or marsala? Vitello or pollo? Choosing an entrée is always diffcult, but eating it never is. — MCA Wiltshire Bakery and Cafe 901 Barret Ave., 581-8561 That almond croissant. Lord, have mercy. — AM Wiltshire on Market 636 E. Market St., 589-5224 Every now and then I like to pretend I'm rich and eat at Wiltshire. It's far from the prici- est restaurant in town, but its interior looks subtly luxurious and is devoid of trends and tackiness — from the light fxtures to the plates to the restroom. I never know what will be on the menu (chili-rubbed steak with rice and beans, beef cheeks with mashed potatoes, ribs and apple-cabbage slaw), but it's always one of my favorite meals. — MCA prorehablou.com Feast BBQ 909 E. Market St. 749-9900 116 W. Main St. (New Albany), (812) 920-0454 Feast's price point and consistency make it a top contender for every dinner date. The pork cakes appe- tizer — two fried and crispy pulled- pork patties in a puddle of barbecue sauce, topped with scallions — is the perfect midday lunch: not heavy enough to induce a meat coma, flling enough to tide you over until dinner. Always order a bourbon slushy for happy hour/dessert. — EM Louisville Magazine publishes its comprehensive Dining Guide in EATS, issued each September.
