Comedian Wayne Brady C At least I know someone who got something from the Michael Jackson estate sale. K The monogram is the worst part — it's like The Scarlet Letter. S It is a well-fitted suit but too much with the monogram and pocket watch. Singer Jordin Sparks C Is she going to a picnic? K Appreciate the denim risk, but it's not appropriate. She is suited for the Infield. S Way too casual. No. 128: Derby is the pinnacle of that wonderful phenomenon: the Kentucky spring. People rave about summer in Nantucket, fall in New England, winter in Vermont. Nothing I have seen in the States or abroad approaches that brilliantly verdant, almost lime green of the foliage, the exquisite dogwoods, flowers and shrubs and, above [92] LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 4.12 all, the radiant weather. Mind you, I also recall the Derby when there was sleet at the Oaks and on Derby Day, but our hostess was prepared with a box of Glad Bags.
