62 LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 7.15 C E D come prepared etiquette drink some water Last year, festivalgoers gave us some advice about what to bring inside (legally): gum, lip balm, lipstick, towel, blanket, water bottle, sombrero, cowboy hat, "at least some kind of hat," hand sanitizer, toilet paper, sunglasses, Nag Champa body oil "to smell fresh," "e-cig so you don't smoke a lot of cigarettes while drinking." 1. Do not siphon water from somebody's CamelBak without permission. 4. You cannot get mad if somebody accidently steps on your blanket. And if you step on somebody's blanket? "My bad." 5. You know how at certain times during a show the whole crowd will be clapping overhead to the beat? It feels really good to be the frst clapper. 6. Don't want others to muscle in front of you and steal that spot you've protected all day (it really is a dick move, people)? Two words: human barricade. 7. You know how that tall guy in front of you blocks your view? What do you think happens when you get on somebody's shoulders? 8. Yes, we can hear every word of the shout-convo you and your friend are having. Step away from the stage. 9. Holding a cellphone in the air is not the same as holding a lighter in the air. 10. Public make-out sessions that last the entirety of a show = gross. 11. By all means, sing along. 12. Puff, puff, pass.
