And the bar — in perfectly manicured Norton Commons, on a street that resem- bles Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives — sells some 350 wines by the bottle and also pours two, four or eight ounces for about $1 an ounce. Outside, customers clink glasses and line up at the on-street ordering window. Inside, a Barry Manilow lookalike serenades the small room, furnished with wood tables and tall upholstered stools. Commonwealth only offers a cheese plate for food, so a couple has brought in Chinese for dinner. But none of that is why I'm here. Commonwealth, which opened in 2013, also stocks more than 100 bourbons. And I want to know which one to drink to toast Best of Louisville's 30th anniversary. Take it away, general manager Kenny Andreozzi: "Old Forester's signa- ture 100 proof is great for making cocktails; being 100 proof, it stands out for any mixer. Old Fitzgerald is another good one, though it's hard to fnd. However, it is put into a Larceny special batch that is defnitely available. A personal favorite of mine is Old Grand-Dad 100 proof. It's a 'bottled in bond' sipping whiskey that's readily available and easy to recommend because it's a delicious yet underrated old label." So, then, you're saying drink all four of them? — Ashley Hoff PEOPLE'S CHOICE
