Some of our editorial staff decided to have a
brainstorming session for this issue over drinks
one Friday afternoon at Garage Bar. The four of us
left our papers on one of the patio's wooden picnic
tables when we went inside to order. While at the
bar, somebody told us that a wind gust had blown
all of our stuff into the middle of East Market
Street. We ran toward the road and noticed that
two people were already chasing down every last
sheet of paper. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the
man's name. To him: Thank you, thank you, thank
you. The woman's name is Katie Belt, and she lives
in Old Louisville. She was having drinks at the
table next to us. "When I saw the papers blowing
everywhere I said, 'That looks like it would suck so
much for them,'" she told us. "So I just got up and
went after them." For that, we'd like to give Katie
Belt this year's frst Best of Louisville award: Best
Good Samaritan.
