10 LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 7.15 LouisvilleLip mortons.com/louisville advancedentandallergy.com Yay! and nay I looove Louisville Magazine, and your April Derby issue was spectacular. Mary Elisabeth Keller [who sent in a feedback letter in May saying, in part, that the magazine "has undergone so many changes I hardly recognize it for the wonderful monthly it used to be"] can't fnd anything she wants to read in there? Can't imagine it. I do have a comment on Mary Welp's article on Lucky's Market ("Getting Lucky's in Kentucky," May). I went there once last summer, and Lucky's struck out with me. The lone person behind the deli counter was so busy talking to a former colleague that he ignored me completely for quite a while until I asked if there was someone to help me. He frowned and sighed and reluctantly came over. At the meat counter, a lone employee was trying to help everybody in a long line and kept ringing into the back to get some help. Finally, the butcher ambled out, frowning at being interrupted. The avocados were hard as rocks. The produce didn't look fresh to me. But as Mary pointed out, there are many great groceries in that area, so I have plenty of other choices. Carroll Baldwin Lyndon Aw, shucks I am just now sitting down reading the Derby edition of your magazine from cover to cover. So interesting. Makes me proud to be from Louisville. The cover is awesome too. It's a keeper! Anonymous Are you buying? Great piece on Lexington (Mary Chellis Austin's "Lexington Revisited," May). If you make it back to Lexington anytime soon, I encourage you to stop in at Blue Stallion Brewing Co. Not sure why you may have missed it, but give it a try. Finest beer I've had since I left Germany. My wife said to tell you we'd be glad to join you for a beer. We look for any excuse to head to Blue Stallion. The Hefeweizen is her favorite.
