Clockwise from top left:
The crisp and golden duck fat frites with white
truffe aioli ($7) come stacked in a mason jar; grit
cakes hold shrimp, crispy country ham, spicy
maple syrup and a sunny-side-up egg ($10).
Executive chef Tavis Rockwell says every couple
of days he sells 100 orders of the fried chicken
tacos with garlic mashed potatoes, Cheddar
and pepper gravy ($10). "What's funny is, they
were a total joke staff meal at Equus," he says.
The menu's "sweets" portion includes pumpkin
whoopie pies and chocolate chunk cookie
beignets with vanilla bean anglaise ($5), which
are basically dressed-up doughnut holes. The
warm Brussels sprouts salad ($9) is a mainstay
on the seasonally changing menu.
