The Global Warming ($12), a
holdover from the Place Downstairs,
is a vodka cocktail served in a chilled
copper mug, sweetened with passion
fruit sorbet and elderfower liqueur,
served with a scoop of poblano
pepper sorbet that, as it melts, makes
the drink spicier. Though Cena
retains a cocktail menu and full bar,
the wine tasting room will be used
for curing charcuterie.
Mussel and Burger Bar's
basement houses Cena,
which is only accessible
by a quiet elevator ride.
The secret, speakeasy vibe
continues with the decor:
rich wood foors, plush
ivory chairs and booths,
softly lit burgundy walls,
and little candles fickering
on bare tables.
