White Heat
Early spring stole from winter's white
palette of snow and ice, up-cycling
it to the petals of fowering trees,
and thankfully, ending the chilling
temperatures. The city is in bloom,
and warmer weather is FINALLY
here, inspiring us to lighten up our
wardrobes in both color and volume. At
the Macy's and KMAC Couture fashion
shows last month, white was all over
the runway. Flowery lace details, petal
embellishments, and tendrils of fringe
were an ode to what nature does best.
At the KMAC show, artists created
wearable works, using everything
from plastic forks to movie tickets as
reimagined fabric and fowers.
