Grind Gourmet Burger Truck
(851-7333, louisvillegrind.com)
Soon, Grind will have a brick-and-mortar
restaurant (which, by the way, will be
called Grind Burger Kitchen and located
on Preston Highway) to back its excellent
food truck, and the bacon Brie burger
we so fercely covet on the daily will no
longer be a moving target. Grind co-
owner Liz Huot says the restaurant will
be remodeled in stages through the late
spring and summer. (And, yes, the food
truck will keep grinding away after the
restaurant opens). Our favorite recurring
special at Grind: the vegetarian lobster
roll, made with Lion's Mane mushrooms
textured like the highfalutin crustacean.

truck times and locations.

If he were on death row, Christopher
Seckman, chef-owner of North End
Cafe, would choose North End's migas
(three eggs scrambled with blue corn
tortilla chips, jalapeƱos, cheese, salsa
and home fries) as his fnal meal.
Seckman won't reveal the secret recipe
for his incredibly thick and convincing
vegetarian mushroom gravy. As it is nearly
indistinguishable from sausage gravy, we
are suspicious. Sorcery, we say. Sorcery!
The Grape Leaf
(2217 Frankfort Ave., 897-1774,

If you can pinpoint the three days of
perfect weather between the moist
sludge of spring and the blistering heat
of a Louisville summer, spend them at
the Grape Leaf, sitting on the terrace at
the best seat in the house: beside the
fountain, beneath the twirling fans. Order
the grape leaves flled with vegetables,
rice and herbs.
