5.14 LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 9 5 www.keeplouisvilleweird.com/buylocalfair Nguyen, explaining Four Sisters' menu of Vietnamese bánh mì sandwiches, French crêpes and coffee. ìOur bánh mì is not very traditional, but we take it to — I think you call it 'the next level'?" Thuy, one of the four Vietnamese sisters for whom the restaurant is named, adds, ìWe have a very feminine setting. A lot of ladies want to hang out here. It's something light, something healthy." Small fsh-shaped porcelain saucers hold discarded tea bags, and the sun- dried tomato and feta crêpe is folded like origami. Instagramers, rejoice. The Cure Lounge (1481 S. Shelby St., 365-3369) Owner Alison Freels says, ìIt's bar food, but it's like a step above; it's easy eating. If you're in a super-cute outft, it's not going to get all over you." Inspired by her career in the service industry, Freels keeps her kitchen open until 3 a.m., serving Polish Pittsburgh-style pierogi (dumplings stuffed with potato, meat and cheese) and different varieties of breadsticks, from the savory (chile, provolone and mozzarella) to the sweet (cinnamon, sugar and honey). Dairy Kastle (575 Eastern Pkwy., 634-8990 dairykastle.com) The truest sign of summer's approach in Louisville is the opening of Dairy Kastle. Cash-only Americana at its best. Enjoy the Fat Elvis, a banana/peanut butter milkshake. If Fido is along for the walk, Dairy Kastle also serves a Milk-Bone sundae: dog treats with ice cream. Cafe 27 (145 E. Main St., New Albany, Ind., (812) 948-9999, cafe27.com) New Albany, Ind., is gaining a reputation as a foodie haven for Louisvillians willing to traverse the Sherman Minton Bridge for good grub. Cafe 27 serves a seasonally changing, locally sourced menu of American favorites. Go for a DJ on Thursday nights, karaoke on Fridays, and live music on Saturdays. 72% of Louisville Magazine subscribers have dined at a specifc restaurant as a result of reading Louisville Magazine.
