A St. X alum, he played in the NFL for 13 years and, from 2003 to 2012, covered the Indianapolis Colts on the radio. He lives in Crescent Hill. Why coach at St. X? "With my background, and living in Louisville, there is nothing else I'd rather do." What's the frst thing that comes to mind when you hear these words: Trinity High School football? When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? "Play professional basketball. I enjoyed everything about basketball as a kid growing up in Louisville; football was an acquired taste." All-time favorite Louisville restaurant? "Pat's Steakhouse. Best flet around. My wife and I actually had our rehearsal dinner there back in '88. Don't forget the lima beans." Best Louisville date spot? If forced to get a tattoo today, what would you get? "No one could force me to get one." Best bar in Louisville? "Tie between Kern's Korner and Shenanigans." Favorite local sports team? "Louisville Bats. Gary 'The U' Ulmer — the team president — and his crew do a great job." If Actors Theatre staged a production about your life, what would the performance be called? "Forrest Gump Went to Vanderbilt." All-time favorite Louisville athlete? "Muhammad Ali, Paul Hornung or Secretariat. Take your pick. They were all 'The Greatest.'" Besides your current job, what's the best job you've ever had? "Colts Radio. They paid me to talk about an everyyear playoff contender." Favorite bourbon drink? "Woodford. There is no substitute." Where do you go to be alone? "My back porch." All-time favorite Derby winner? "Tie between Sunday Silence and Funny Cide.
