The state-of-the-art facility, expected to open later this fall, is designed by Jim Walters of Bravura Architecture and features a frst-ofits-kind surgicenter for our region. Walters is a local phenomenon known for Louisville landmarks like Kentucky Center for the Arts, Iroquois Ampitheater, Humana Waterside Building, and Fourth Street Live. The new facility will be multi-purposed with one foor devoted to an education suite where doctors from around the world will come together for advanced training. Another foor will house the region-exclusive surgicenter where maxillofacial surgeries like reconstructing facial bones to allow patients to feel better and eat, chew, and smile normally can be performed. Patients with dental phobias can also be anesthetized at a deeper level in the surgicenter. By focusing on health and wellness of the entire mouth, jaw, and face, the doctors at Kentuckiana Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates are also able to offer patients eyelid surgery, botox, fllers, and laser and acid resurfacing to enhance facial skin appearance. Techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention are available and the group diagnoses and treats facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
