Blair Cornell DXP Imaging – Louisville Endovascular 5129 Dixie Hwy., Suite 100, 447-8786 Roy Meckler Neurology At age fve, Roy Meckler knew that he wanted to study the brain.  Since then, he has dedicated himself to being a "brain detective," as he calls it — trying to decipher the brain's many mysteries. He focuses on multiple sclerosis and neuro-ophthalmology, the overlap of brain and eye.    • "Tere are quite a few (multiple sclerosis patients) here in Louisville. . . . Since there isn't anyone else practicing neuroophthalmology, you get to really be the focus of the things you have specialty training in. Also, the MS practice has allowed me to focus on the things that give me a lot of pleasure — things I have special skills for." • "We have a lot of support from my work place and from the community, patients themselves, the MS Center that has made this a special practice." Jason Meckler Neurology   Jason Meckler's father, Dr. Roy Meckler, never pressured him into a medical feld, but, perhaps inevitably, both Mecklers ended up not just in medicine together, but in the same discipline: neurology. Te father-son neurologists work at Norton Neurology Services. • "It was not my intention growing up, but once I made that decision to go into neurology, I knew that I wanted to practice with my dad. He never pressured me to go into medicine or specifcally neurology, but as I was more exposed to diferent possible career paths, and to medicine itself, neurology became more interesting to me because of the experience with him." • "We are in the stroke and heart atack belt in this part of the country, which is defnitely diferent than, say, Maine or Massachusets."
