Anderson   Suresh Alankar is originally fom India, where he atended medical school. He then went to England for a year, and came to this country in 1991. He completed his residency in Detroit and has practiced in Indiana and had a fellowship in Houston. Family — a sister in town — and opportunity brought him to Louisville.   • "Before vascular surgery, I was a general surgeon. I really loved general surgery, but vascular surgery to me is much more challenging."  • "Smoking rates are very high here, and I see a lot of people sufering with the consequences of this smoking and other life habits. Vascular disease is fairly common in most parts of the country, but what struck me most when I came here is the severity and the extent of the disease. Te disease is much more severe and hits people much younger. It was a big deal for me. It was unbelievable." • "Most surgeons love to operate, and they live to spend their time in the operating room. But I really enjoy the time I spend in the ofce. Seeing the patients in the ofce afer the surgery and seeing how relieved they are afer their problems have been solved and the gratitude that they show to you aferwards — that is the most rewarding part to me."  Rodney J.
