Follow the walking path behind it and you'll come upon a charming walled cemetery containing 80 graves of the Hobbs family and other early residents of the village. Incredible Dave's (2008) Douglass loop Farmers' Market The whole of the Douglass Loop market is under the shade canopy of several huge trees. Because it's on an oval loop, the grassy center is a nice, uncrowded spot for an impromptu picnic (with tables to boot). The bands are better. The trio on our last visit sounded like the Doors. The natural acoustics are so good that you'd never know busy Bardstown Road is 20 yards away. The quality of the baked goods is fantastic; plus excellent quiches and two food trucks (Holy Molé and Grind). Historic Briney Hall, with its monster pillars, makes a great backdrop. There's a cute playground for the kids, and dogs are welcome. — Jack Welch VS BEARGRASS Christian FARMERS' MARKET Though it looks as if it would be, parking isn't a problem. Dogs aren't allowed, but you can buy Spot a smoked bone the size of a T-Rex's femur. A sign touts "mindfully grown produce," which doesn't seem nearly as pretentious after you've tasted the stuff. Beef, beef and more beef. Probably from cows fed only on "mindfully grown produce." One vendor sells four different kinds of pimento cheese — including spicy pepper jack — each one better than the last. Free samples, you know. OK, so the band doesn't sound like the Doors. But a little mid-morning acoustic music goes down easy with the coffee and homemade breads. Bees! Yep, one fella has bees. And honey. And bees! (Don't worry.
