LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 3.19 119 Community Foundation of Louisville Helping Nonprofits Create Greater Community Impact Children thrive when they are valued. The mission of 2NOT1: Fatherhood & Families, located in west Louisville, is to support fathers toward healthy and positive relationships with their children and encourage effective co-parenting. 2NOT1 used a $15,300 grant received from the Fund for Louisville in 2018 to maximize its impact. As a result, the organization improved management and communication skills, enhanced the ability to write competitive, high-quality grant requests and better positioned itself to support more families. Dr. Georgia Turner, executive director, shares the success: 2NOT1 recently earned $25,000 for its Parent Advocate program based on what was learned. 2NOT1 is one of many nonprofits receiving grants through the Fund for Louisville. Since 2018, nearly $900,000 in grants have been awarded to 53 local nonprofit organizations, transforming lives in Louisville's most historically disinvested and underinvested neighborhoods. The Community Foundation of Louisville initiated the Fund for Louisville, supported by the Lift a Life Foundation, the James Graham Brown Foundation, and donors including William O. Alden Jr., to create greater community impact by strengthening nonprofit organizations. SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION MARCH 2017 $4.70 WEST VS.
