LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 11.18 127 THE LINE ON FOOD & DRINK | ARTS Allison Chipak/Courtesy of Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, 2018 The Anchal Project, the Louisville-based textile and design nonprofit that has trained 429 women in India since 2010, diverting many from a life of extreme poverty and commerical sex work, recently introduced a capsule collection in partnership with the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The mix of quilts, scarves, bandanas, tote bags and a kimono jacket incorporates abstract geometric forms and shades of brilliant color, all hand-stitched by 130 artisan women from Ajmer, India, using organic cot- ton and dyes from Anchal's dyeScape garden in the Portland neighborhood. Sisters and Anchal founders Colleen and Maggie Clines designed the collection in celebration of the museum's exhibit "Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future," up through April 2019. — Dahlen Mitzalis
