meridiansenior.com/parklouisville 22 LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 10.18 THE BIT FLASHBACK October 1972 On the cover: "Louisville's Dynamic Muse on the Move" — actress Lee Anne Fahey — "symbolizing a benevolent muse for Louisville's arts scene." Inside: We examined three new arts homes — Actors Theatre, the Speed Art Muse- um's "massive new contemporary wing" and the Brown Theatre, rebranded as the Macauley Theatre (and, since 1998, the Brown again). We paired the feature with a "fashion fantasy" photo shoot. For some reason, Henry Heuser Jr. (a prominent U of L donor who was entangled in a real estate deal during the university's recent upheaval) wore a paisley tuxedo and was surrounded by giant stuffed animals. In a caption, he was "quoted": "Friends? I've never seen them before in my life. They keep mumbling in Hungarian and saying, 'Jorge sent us.'" Other absurdities: "Amazing, a self-watering tree!" "They'll never believe this is the un-champagne." "Darling, isn't the toast burning?" We mentioned how the Macauley was celebrated for having been the site of Henry Heuser Jr.
