We know that patients who are diagnosed earlier have better outcomes, so we are committed to offering screening programs throughout Kentuckiana. We specifically offer events in the community that are designed to reach populations that have low screening rates, high cancer health disparities, or other high-risk factors for cancer. Our passion is to address discrepancies in cancer care and treatment in our community with a significant focus on breast, lung and colon cancer. These cancers are the most prevalent among Kentuckians, but can be caught early when screened appropriately. Many of our screening and prevention events are performed in conjunction with the Kentucky Cancer Program and our mobile screening unit. Since purchasing a new mobile screening unit in March 2016, we have performed more than 4,000 mammograms. The Breast Care Center at UofL James Graham Brown Cancer Center is a dedicated breast center and was the first in Kentucky accredited through the Nationally Accredited Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). We provide convenient, comprehensive outpatient screening, diagnostic and interventional breast services, including 3D mammography, digital mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, ultrasound and biopsy. To schedule a screening mammogram, call (502) 562-4361 and select option 1. If you've already been diagnosed with breast cancer, we encourage you to consider UofL Brown Cancer Center. We opened in 1981 with a goal of offering the most sophisticated cancer care in the world to our neighbors and families right here in Louisville. This has been, and continues to remain, our principal drive and we are continually encouraged by the advancements we have seen. With continued support and as a community of mission-focused agents of change, we will make more breakthroughs, reduce the deaths caused by all cancers, and make cancer a disease of the past. Schedule an appointment at UofL Brown Cancer Center. Call (502) 562-HOPE (4673) or visit UofLBrownCancerCenter.org. Jason Chesney, M.D., Ph.D. Director, UofL James Graham Brown Cancer Center
