Congrats to Dr. Jamie Warren for being named as a 2018 Top Dentist! Mary Chellis Nelson's interview with Jim Wayne ("In Good Conscience," January) was outstanding. Seldom do you hear frank assessments from our local legislators about their struggles. Happy retirement, Mr. Wayne. (Wayne, who has served Kentucky House District 35 in Louisville since 1990, is not seeking re- election.) Ted Shaughnessy Dylon Jones' article "Carcass Collectors" (Shift, February) is absolutely fantastic! I live near Hurstbourne Lane, between Shelbyville and Westport roads, and the slaughter of deer on that stretch is particularly bad. Susan Jeffries Reader Wade Johnson loved the cover of April's Derby Issue so much that he had it enlarged and hung it up at his house. The Metropolitan Housing Coalition tweeted, "Read Anne Marshall's article on evictions" ("Evicted in Louisville," July), and @notbencarter added, "An outstanding overview of the challenges facing renters in Louisville." @kyjts wrote, "Really well done story on evictions. But as often seems to be the case with these stories, none of this comes as a surprise." Tara Anderson, whose podcast Five Things won a Best of Louisville award in July, tweeted this photo from the Best of Louisville party, writing, "They made a cookie for my podcast!" On Twitter, local musician Jecorey "1200" Arthur wrote, "You killed that photo," responding to photographer Jessica Ebelhar's August cover that featured Sylvia Arnett, owner of the longtime West End bar Syl's Lounge.
