[ Home & Design>>Designers Spotlight ] Project: Dining Room Update "The clients like bright colors, especially orange. That was the inspiration for the bold, large-scale orange Orissa wallpaper by Thibaut above the chair rail." "The chair rail was original. To add interest to the small room, rectangular trim mold befitting the home's age and architectural style was applied beneath it." "To make the dining room appear larger, the wall beneath the chair rail was painted with Benjamin Moore Pennies From Heaven, the same color as the background of the wallpaper." The young newlyweds who inherited this 1940s-era Cape Cod in Shelbyville spent 10 months gutting it, bringing it up to code and modernizing the kitchen and baths after moving in. Guiding the renovations and updating the decor was Amy Wilson, who worked with many furnishings they already owned to complete the dining room. [140] LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 11.12 "Simple, informal window treatments add polish without blocking the streetscape view. The tailored Roman shades are made of olive-colored linen with a Highland Court embroidered trim to emphasize their shape."
