nortoncancerinstitute, com LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 11.17 27 WE LOVE Jarring potholes that can send a sedan air-bound. Traffic zipping by at 20 mph over the speed limit — more Nascar race than evening commute. Until recently, this was the stretch of Lexington Road between Baxter Avenue and Grinstead Drive. My old clunker always felt like a turtle hobbling along while the hares sped past. The road was begging for two things: a fresh coat of asphalt and a "road diet," aka going from four lanes to two in some parts. Now driving on Lexington Road feels like a vid- eo game as I flow between the thick yellow and white lines, nobody able to pass me aggres- sively. Before, the thought of taking a bike out there seemed like a suicide mission that would send me over the brick wall of Cave Hill Cemetery. But with dedicated bike lanes, almost as wide as the car lanes along some stretches, I see plenty of cyclers cruising along. Maybe my car could take a break altogether. — Mary Chellis Ausঞn THE BIT WHERE AM I? Do you know this location? Send us an email (editorial@loumag.com, subject: Where Am I?). We'll publish the correct answer next month. Last month: Cheryl Marking was the first of many readers to identify this, uh, headless Barbie sculpture (is that what you'd call it?) at Comfy Cow on Frankfort Avenue. "These always totally bewilder my grandchildren," Marking says. OVERHEARD "I mean, and that's not even counting all the less-credible Bigfoot sightings." — overheard in Germantown
