STYLE THREAD "A couple of the diamonds had popped out of my mom's engagement ring. Instead of replacing them, she made a set and gave the pieces to me and my sister. I pretty much wear the earrings all the time. I don't like to take them off." — Nancy Mok (le[), violin "I got these earrings from some taxidermy shop in San Francisco. It had some stupid pun-y name. I want to say Loved to Death or something like that. They're made of iridescent turquoise-colored beetles' wings. They're kind of fragile, so I wear them for special occasions. People either think they're really cool or they get grossed out. I don't particularly like bugs, but they're very pretty." — Monica Poer, keyboard The musicians play in the "instrumental rock orchestra" In Lightning, which is onstage at Waterfront Wednesday Aug. 30.
