Trainers sometimes reward horses with peppermints for doing something right. "As a trainer, you walk down your shedrow with mints and all the horses stick their heads out to greet you," says former trainer and Spudz Chips owner John Good, who used to work with Bob Baffert. "Once they get used to them, they'll dig for them in your pockets with their muzzle. Different horses have different styles too — lots of 'em lick 'em forever before they eat, others just snatch 'em and gulp.
