LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 11.16 51 BAILEE ADAMS 10, fifth grade, Stonestreet Elementary Bailee performs as a cheerleader for her school and for the Special Olympics. She is also an active participant with Down Syndrome of Louisville and Angels in Disguise, which promote Down syndrome awareness. How did you get started with cheerleading? "I was three years old. I did the Special Olympics when I was eight. My favorite thing about cheerleading is my pose. I was a flyer (a cheerleader held up by others) in the Special Olympics. I went all the way up in the air. It was scary." What's your favorite subject in school? "My favorite subject in school is recess and lunch. I don't like English or math. I like reading. My favorite story is Beauty and the Beast. I love the movie. I'm going to see the new one. I'm excited." Do you have any pets? "I have two boxers. I walk them a lot. One of them hurt her knee, so she can't walk." What do you want to be when you grow up? "A babysitter."
