Buy Local Fair
Sunday, May 22, noon-6 p.m.
Louisville Water Tower Park
For the frst time since the original "Keep Louisville
Weird" billboard went up more than 10 years ago,
the Louisville Independent Business Alliance is
launching a new public media campaign promoting
the "buy local" message. (Thanks to a grant from
the Advertising Federation of Louisville and Bandy
Carroll Hellige's pro bono work.)
The ads feature headlines like: "Keep Your Money
Close To Home," "What Spends Here, Stays Here,"
"Keep Louisville In The Money," and "Bring It On
Home." The messages reinforce our mission to
encourage area residents to view themselves as
members of a community, rather than merely as
consumers. Supporting local businesses gives our
city our unique favor, our weirdness, and it also
reinvests $55 into the community for every $100
spent.
You can also see Louisville Magazine's own Dan
Crutcher sharing the message in some photos we're
using on social media (thanks to Kertis Creative).
Check it all out on our website!

The fair will feature a marketplace of more
than 180 booths from local businesses,
musicians, artist and craftspeople, chefs,
community organizations, and farmers.
The event will also include live music,
a craft beer tent, food trucks, cooking
competition, a silent auction area, and
the H2O Kid's Zone.
