We were given training on what to say if she talked to us; otherwise, we were not to address her. Cameras were focused on everything she ate and did. Te problem came when she decided to go to the loo. Her security came out and said they needed to make preparations. Tey rushed people out the door and closed the room off." Deborah Lowery, Ladyfingers Catering's owner "We've catered the Barnstable Brown party for eight years. I stay in the back of the house, overseeing the grill and the food prep. It's right behind the celebrity section. I've had members of ZZ Top come up to the grill and want to flip a steak. One time, Michael Jordan kept switch- ing between two different buffets. He loved the food so much that he didn't want to appear like he was overindulging." Paul Clark, Green Cab of Louisville taxi driver "Eight years ago I drove NASCAR legend A.J. Foyt to the Clark County Regional Airport in Jeffersonville, Ind. I happened to be grabbing a dozen doughnuts from Amazing Glaze Donut Co. in Floyds Knobs for my wife and thought, heck, I should get a dozen of assorted for A.J. to enjoy on the flight home. He called me from the plane and said, 'Tose were absolutely the best doughnuts I've ever eaten.' Te next year he asked if I could bring him some more. I lied and told him I was going to be near that doughnut shop. I ended up driving 25 miles out of my way." Jenny Summitt, Xtreme Transportation's president "A couple of years ago, one of my drivers chauf- feured Hugh Hefner and women from Te Girls Next Door. After leaving the Barnstable Brown party, Hugh needed to use the restroom. It was past midnight and raining, too. My driver drove down Bardstown Road and pulled up to a pizza joint, knocked on the door, and a guy sweeping the floor answered. Te guy turned on the lights, and they actually ended up taking pictures and hanging out there for a while." We try to show off our Southern hospitality by grill- ing hot dogs, burgers and serving Derby Pie in the lobby.
