Te original first-floor guest room and hall bath received makeovers, too. To lend the bath a more formal, powder-room feel, they removed the tub, renovated the show- er, put up Victorian-style wallpaper and re- placed the original sink and toilet. Te homeowners are still working on completing the second floor and the new basement studio — "We're taking a breath- er," explains Laura — but they're pleased with what they've accomplished thus far. "I never imagined I would live in a house like this," Jay says.
