bit the z betting window What are the odds you'll like these February happenings? 1:1 ODDS-ON FAVORITE 2:1 Tickets to The Book of Mormon are now on sale! Upside: Get 'em while you can. Like, by yesterday. From May 27 to June 8, The Book of Mormon, aka the Most Popular Broadway Show in the History of Everything, will put on a sleeveless white collared shirt and black tie, knock on the Kentucky Center's door, knock some more, peek through the blinds, then ring the doorbell and keep ringing it until somebody fnally answers. Don't shut the door on this one, created by the South Park guys. Downside: Knew it: sold out by the time you read this. New plan: Go door to door, hoping folks will listen to your pitch about why they should give you their Book of Mormon tickets. Pleased to Meet Me Upside: Local flmmaker Archie Borders' new movie (of the cast, Aimee Mann is the name you're most likely to recognize) is about a group of musicians/strangers who create a band for one day. Borders shot Pleased to Meet Me in Louisville, mainly inside Kevin Ratterman's recording studio off Lexington Road. Downside: The problem with movies flmed in Louisville is that we spend the majority of the time shouting about the locations we recognize onscreen. Upside: Everybody loves the circus! Downside: Afraid of clowns, huh? You must've seen It as a kid. Upside: A few years back, we stumbled upon a group of farmers partying at the Jockey Silks bar in the Galt House during Machinery Show weekend. A few drinks turned into — well, let's just say we all loosened our ties overalls a bit and things got a little out of hand. Downside: Still don't know what happened to the goat. Upside: 502 Restaurant Week, from Feb. 19 to March 5, is a bright spot. Same with Kings of Leon at the Yum! on the 9th. At the end of the month, the Frazier History Museum will have an exhibit about the American fag. What else, what else? Ah, right: In February you can always go to the grocery during your lunch break and leave everything in your car's refrigerator of a trunk until it's time to go home. The milk won't spoil! Downside: Yeah, February is terrible. (Feb. 15, Kentucky Center) 5:1 Kosair Shrine Circus (Feb. 6-9, Kentucky Exposition Center, Broadbent Arena) 10:1 National Farm Machinery Show (Feb. 12-15, Kentucky Exposition Center) 100:1 LONGSHOT February? More like Lousyweath-uary — Josh Moss 14 LOUISVILLE MAGAZINE 2.14
