Out-of-towners take note: This is where Col. Harland Sanders, of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame, is buried. Cherokee Park (c. 1890) Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed New York's Central Park, also designed a system of parks and parkways in Louisville. The popular Cherokee Park was one of the frst, with more than 400 acres in the rolling Beargrass Creek valley. Highland Cleaners (1944) 2455 Bardstown Road // 454-4641 highlandcleaners.com With more than 10 area locations, this local dry cleaner has been keeping Louisvillians' clothes clean for nearly 70 years. The Highland Dog (2012) 1962 Roanoke Ave. // 479-1056 thehighlanddog.com How about boarding your dog at a place with, according to the website, "temperature-controlled indoor suites." Geez, we don't even sleep in one of those.
