FLASH BACK
Louisville Magazine
Vol. 44/No. 2, Feb. 1993
On the cover: Former U of L basketball
great Carlton Lamont "Scooter" McCray
Inside: Ten years after his last season as
a Cardinal, McCray was a top assistant
to Denny Crum, which begged the question we asked on the cover:
"Is he Denny Crum's successor-in-the-making?" We all now know
the answer to that question, and his name is Rick Pitino. Last we
checked, McCray still lived in Louisville and worked in the furniture
business. La-Z-Boys. Which sounds a lot less stressful than
coaching basketball. Good call, Scooter.
